Backlinks that Generate Results

How It Works
SEO

When it comes to optimizing your website for SEO, note that Google takes into account a variety of different factors when ranking pages. Combined, these factors help Google to determine the relevance and quality of your website’s content. One of these factors happens to be backlinks. Because your page rankings rely in part on your website’s ability to earn backlinks, don’t overlook the importance of link building to a comprehensive SEO strategy.

Without a link building strategy, your content won’t attract nearly as many readers as it potentially could. Besides bringing in traffic from other websites, backlinks contribute to your rankings, which can result in more organic traffic from Google. In fact, Google is the reason why link building is so important.

Our Process

Before we start the process of building links back to your website, we need to know the current state of your backlink profile.

Backlink Audit

To know which websites are currently linking to your site, we need to carry out a backlink audit. This involves investigating which domains and specific URLs are linking to your website, and the type of link that exists. From here we can establish the quality and relevance of each link and domain.

Building Backlinks

Once we know what your website backlink profile looks like, we can start to build quality backlinks. These consist of relevant website directories, and anchor text links from relevant articles and blog posts. We do this through blogger outreach, which involves connecting with bloggers and website owners where we think your website content would prove a valuable additional resource to their article or post.

Different Types of Backlinks

There are various types of backlinks, we’ve included details of the most common in SEO.

Dofollow and Nofollow

In basic terms, ‘dofollow’ links are links that pass authority to the website they are linking to. Links are dofollow as standard and tell search engines including Google, that the link is a genuine referral.

‘Nofollow’ links are links where search engines are told not to follow these, basically ignoring them. This is done by adding rel=’nofollow’ into the link code.

The purpose is to separate genuine referrals from spammy, unnatural links or user-generated content. Nofollow is also frequently used for affiliate links and sponsored / paid links.

It’s worth having a mixture of both dofollow and nofollow links to demonstrate a natural looking backlink profile for search engines.
